Kabirul Islam, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds affiliated faculty positions with the Molecular Biophysics and Structural Biology Program and the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh, as well as being a member of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. Dr. Islam completed postdoctoral research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Rockefeller University. He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science and an M.S. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur. His research has been recognized with numerous awards, including a Collaborative Sciences Award from the American Heart Association, selection in several young investigator issues of prominent chemical biology journals, and multiple research grants from the NSF and NIH.
