Shroff Lab

Lab Focus

Prof. Sanjeev Shroff, Chair of the Bioengineering Department, conducts research at the interface of bioengineering and cardiovascular disease. His work examines the interplay between ventricular function and cellular processes, emphasizing contractile/regulatory proteins and post-translational modifications. His work integrates experimental and computational approaches to advance therapies for heart disease and improve cardiovascular function understanding. In addition, as the Principal Investigator of the successful Coulter Translational Research Partnership II Program, he has helped establish an infrastructure at Pitt to de-risk biomedical technologies from multiple perspectives (clinical need and market analysis, technical, regulatory, reimbursement, etc.) to facilitate their translation from academia.
