W. Seth Childers

W. Seth Childers, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, affiliated with the Molecular Biophysics and Structural Biology Program. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Emory University (2010) and a B.ChE. in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (1999). He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University from 2010 to 2015. Dr. Childers' research interests include the signaling logic in bacterial asymmetric cell division, the role of biomolecular condensates as organizers of RNA biochemistry in bacteria, and synthetic biology strategies. His work has resulted in numerous publications and grants from organizations such as the NIH and DOE. Click here for more information on his research.
