Wei Li, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine since 2018. He also serves as the Director of the Center for Antibody Therapeutics (CAT), having been promoted to the role in June 2023. Dr. Li earned his B.S. in Applied Chemistry from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2009 and his Ph.D. in Bioinorganic Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Fudan University in 2014. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in Immunology and Antibody Engineering at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 2014 to 2017. His current research interests focus on antibody and TCR discovery and engineering, as well as the development of antibody-based composite molecules like antibody-drug conjugates (ADC), bispecific antibodies, and CAR-T therapies for applications in immune-oncology and immune-virology. He has been recognized with multiple honors, including the 2020 AACR Team Science Award and the NIH Fellows Award for Research Excellence in 2017. Click here for more information on his research.
